December 2008
Dear Alumni and Friends,
In 2007, we launched our first-ever Annual Appeal. Thanks
to our alumni and friends, scattered far and wide, who opened their hearts and responded so generously, it was a great success.
Once again, I am asking that you support Transfiguration School by contributing to our 2009 Annual Appeal.
There is much good news to report since last year. Most importantly, our enrollment
is up, and Transfiguration School continues, as it has for almost 60 years-to be one of the most vibrant Catholic schools
in our area. Of course, there have been challenges as well. Under normal circumstances, as many of you are aware, tuition
alone does not cover the cost of educating our students. In the past, mandated-services aid from the state of New York, which
is provided to us in return for our efforts to comply with certain state requirements, has helped to "close the gap."
However, in response to the current budget crisis in Albany, Governor Patterson has cut this reimbursement, and further reductions
loom. Your support is more important, now, than ever before.
I have been truly inspired
that so many alumni and friends have demonstrated how much they value the superb academic and spiritual education we provide
to our students. With your continued generosity, we will continue to be able to keep tuition affordable for the many families
who share your values.
Thank you in advance for supporting us. Your generosity will
keep our mission moving forward!
Sincerely,
Audrey J. Woods
Principal
