Our History

Transfiguration School, founded by the Carmelite Friars, is regarded as one of Westchester’s finest elementary schools because of its strong commitment to educational excellence.  Situated in historic Tarrytown, New York, Transfiguration opened its doors in 1949.  Today, Transfiguration School is part of the Central Westchester Catholic School Region and continues its tradition of educational excellence.
 
It is not by chance that Transfiguration has earned a place of high recognition within the academic community.  Over the years, Transfiguration School has matured and grown adhering to the belief that a commitment to excellence in all areas of education would result in a school that would produce qualified, caring Christians.
