Dear Transfiguration Community!
What a busy, full week back from Thanksgiving break! We had our scholastic book fair in the STEM lab, which was set up in an amazing way! The book fair is open tomorrow, 12/2 from 9:00-4:00 PM! Our lobby has been fully decorated for Christmas with new additions arriving next week! Both school Christmas trees are set up for the Giving Tree Tradition here at Transfig so please feel free to stop by the lobby and take a tag and make this the season of giving. Our Honors Society lists are set and students will be presented with their awards during our morning assemblies next week. Finally, our students have been very hard at work preparing for the Christmas Concert with Ms. Garibaldi; it promises to be a great show of our musical talent!

Dear Transfiguration Community!
A very short yet eventful week here at Transfiguration! Our students had two half-days of instruction as we accommodated the Parent Teacher Conferences for our families on Monday, 11/20 and Tuesday, 11/21. We have no school from Wednesday-Friday for our Thanksgiving Recess! Starting next week, students who achieved one of the levels of honors in our honors society, will be given their pins that they can wear on their uniforms! Starting next week, we will begin to transform our school and lobby for the Christmas season and we can’t wait to decorate and spread some Christmas cheer to our Transfig community! Have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Transfig to all of you!

Dear Transfiguration Community!
A short but eventful week here Transfig! Father Francis has been away on retreat so Father Stephan did a wonderful job leading our students in morning prayer every morning this week. Thank you Father Stephan for your stewardship! On Thursday, which served as our “Friday” for this week, we had a dress down day in red, white and blue to honor and recognize Veterans Day here at Transfig! We take time to thank all of the men and women who have sacrificed so much for our nation. Our students did excellent work as they studied and learned about the month of Thanksgiving and National Native American Heritage Month. Our social media will document some of the highlights from these projects! Finally, we are introducing our brand new Transfiguration Honors Society! A PDF of the program and the eligibility will be emailed out with this newsletter. All students who are eligible will be given a pin that they can wear on their uniforms!

Dear Transfiguration Community!
An amazing yet very busy week here at Transfiguration! We had our costume parade and pumpkin patch event on Halloween! Pictures and video are on our social media site. We also had a wonderful visit from our Sr. Mary Grace Walsh, the Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese of New York. She was able to attend mass, visit classrooms and receive welcome gifts from our students! Our students sang her a song and demonstrated the strength of our faith here at Transfiguration! All this week, students were working very diligently on studying the Saints for their grade and they provided a great presentation of their studies during our First Friday Mass this week.

Dear Transfiguration Community!
A very spiritual and productive week here at Transfiguration! We had great success at our faculty conference days, collaborating on how we can best alter our instruction to meet the academic needs of our students. Father Francis led a beautiful prayer service on Friday, 10/27 for the Day of Peace that was requested by His Holiness, Pope Francis. Our students, from grades Pre-K 3- Grade 8 all participated in the church prayer service with song, readings and prayer. We had a wonderful Fall Festival, provided by the Parents Guild; many families came out to partake in the fun. With that, the fun continues over the next few days with the Tarrytown Halloween Parade on Saturday, 10/28, the Pumpkin Patch on 10/31 in school and the parade of costumes on Halloween in the school lot! Stay tuned!

A great week here at Transfiguration! We had a great visit by our own Tarrytown Police Department. They gave a wonderful and informative presentation on school safety. Afterward, students got to speak with the officers and see the police trucks and motorcycles! Pictures of the event are on our Facebook page. We had a piano donated by the church that is now in our multi-purpose/music room! Ms. Garibaldi is now able to utilize the piano for her music instruction in the classroom setting. Our staff is getting ready for our data day conference session on Monday, 10/23 when we will go over the Fall MAP data and work to curtail our instruction to better assist the students in their academic progress.
