Dear Transfiguration Community!
A very busy week here at Transfiguration! Our students have been hard at work in the middle of the 3rd Marking Period. We are all charging through until the start of Easter Recess in two weeks! This week, we started our celebration of Women’s History Month by having the 1st graders lead our morning assembly with their presentations. This has been paired with our daily Stations of the Cross, led by Father Francis and our students. We have been hard at work downstairs updating, modifying and improving our Prek3 Room and will have a formal unveiling next week! On Thursday evening, our Middle School presented their projects and displays for our Museum Night. It was a wonderful event filled with a great demonstration of the challenging work our Middle School continues to do. A special thank you to Mrs. Holodak for organizing this event each and every year! We also continued our donations with our food drive this week. Once again, our lobby was filled with donations from our entire community, showcasing the true sense of community we have here!

Dear Transfiguration Community!
A truly dedicated week of learning here at Transfiguration. We had a full week of instruction which allowed for great progress in all grades! Father Francis began teaching the students about the Stations of the Cross during our daily morning assembly. The stations will be posted throughout the main hallway as they are taught. We concluded our presentations for Black History Month and will commence with our Women’s History Month Presentations next week! We have also begun decorating for St. Patrick’s Day. Since our main school color is green, let's match that with this holiday that honors the patron saint of the Archdiocese of New York. With that, we are gearing up to march in the Tarrytown St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Sunday, 3/10. A special thank you to those families who have RSVP’d yes to march with us! I have also begun to make good progress on our advertising campaign so look out for Transfiguration ads in local media soon!

Dear Transfiguration Community!
A very short yet special week here at Transfiguration! Our faculty, staff and students all came back on Thursday, 2/22 after a much needed mini-break. Our students were back at work getting ready for upcoming exams, projects and assignments. On Friday, we celebrated the 100th day of school here at Transfiguration and we gave out the honor society awards for those inductees for Quarter 2! Many students improved and earned a promotion on the Honor Society rankings! Next week is a planned, full week of instruction here at Transfig and we have much activity going on as we continue to commemorate the important Season of Lent. Stay Tuned!

Dear Transfiguration Community!
A very challenging and great week here at Transfig! Our faculty conveyed on Monday for Data Day and we’ve learned a great deal about our students. I am proud to announce that only did all of our grades have an average score above the national average but our Middle School achieved at least the 75% percentile on Math and ELA testing! Likewise, our Middle School Science grades have improved dramatically from previous school years! This is in no small part due to the commitment of our Middle School team, entire faculty and community! We utilized our 2nd snow day on Tuesday so our students had a nice 4-day weekend. The week certainly culminated on Wednesday with our Ash Wednesday Mass and service, where we began the Lenten Season. We strive to teach and remember that Lent is always about prayer, reflection and almsgiving. Report Cards for Marking Period 2 are available for view and special accommodations will be given to those who have trouble accessing them. Enjoy the mid-winter recess!

Dear Transfiguration Community!
A very busy week here at Transfig! We had a winter round of emergency drills, which went very well. Students are well aware of the expectations during drills and how to properly proceed. On Wednesday, we had our Ring Day Ceremony for our 7th and 8th graders, attended by grades K-8! Transfiguration Church served as the perfect atmosphere for this important milestone in the academic journey of our oldest students. We thank Mrs. Fortinash for her hard work and dedication in organizing this event for our students! Our service club was hard at work collecting products for NY Helping People. Donations will continue in the school lobby next week with gently used and new clothing! Next week promises to be a very busy yet meaningful week as our faculty gathers for data day on Monday and we commemorate Ash Wednesday and the start of the Season of Lent. Continue to follow our social media for updates and snapshots of all the highlights here at Transfig!

Catholic Schools Week was a great success! From the kick-off pasta/bingo event last Saturday, the Tarrytown Police-Students Basketball game On Monday to the Heritage Day on Thursday, we celebrated our school, faith and community in many ways! We have documented all of the events on our Facebook page so please follow our page if you aren’t already! Also, our Touring Time session was a great success with many families coming to the school to tour the building and learn about our programs! Everyone did a wonderful job this week and we thank everyone for their dedication, support and efforts that made Catholic Schools Week such a great success! Next week, we look forward to beginning the celebration of our older students with the Ring Day Ceremony on Wednesday, 2/7! Report Cards will be accessible within the next two weeks and more information will follow. Finally, please remember to re-register any returning students for the 24-25 school year, as registration is now open through TADS. Finally, we have unveiled our new school pledge, written by yours truly to demonstrate the special meaning that Transfiguration has!

Dear Transfiguration Community,
A very busy week here at Transfig as we prepare for Catholic Schools Week! Unfortunately, the weather has caused us to have indoor recess for the majority of the week. However, I make that decision for the safety of our students. Hopefully, once the weather begins to cooperate again, we will resume outdoor recess. Our students finished up their Winter MAP testing and Midterm exams. Thus far, the results have been excellent and show clear growth in academic skills from our Fall MAP testing, which is great to see! Catholic Schools Week is about to commence and all students will be given a pin and bracelet to wear to commemorate this yearly celebration. They are encouraged to wear these items all week at school to show off the Catholic School Spirit! Please refer to the calendar on the school’s homepage for Catholic Schools Week events that we are partaking in! Remember, Saturday night, 1/27, Pasta and Game Night in the Parish Hall @ 6:00 PM!

Dear Transfiguration Community!
A very weather-filled eventful week here at Transfig. We had our first snow day of the season this past Tuesday, 1/16, which extended the 3-day weekend. Plus, we had our 2-hour delay on Wednesday, 1/17. This winter promises to be very interesting to say the least! However, we will work through it as we always do. Our students are going through their Winter MAP testing and the results continue to show great growth! We have also announced that our 8th graders have been accepted into all of their high school choices and we gave them the well-deserved recognition during our morning assembly on Friday. We have one more week until the start of Catholic Schools Week with the Pasta/Game night on Saturday, 1/27 and we can’t wait! Get those RSVP’s in asap so we can all celebrate together as the Transfiguration Community! Finally, we welcome back Ms. Chester to our 1st grade after her maternity leave and can’t wait for a successful 2nd half of the year! So far, things are going well!
